Ditching yanuroysuroy.wordpress.com was difficult for me. It was like ditching a 3 month old baby but i wanted to reinvent it into something that can easily be identified as a blog about travel, at the same time different and pinoy.
On my 28th birthday, i decided to create Pinoy Travelogista to feature my future travels and to continue what yanuroysuroy had started. Same old stuff just different blog name.
To prepare for it, i jumped off on a road trip to Maasim one late aftenoon, a day before my 28th birthday.
It might sound easy to just go and be where you wanted to be but for someone who’s used to going places with friends, just the thought of going solo brought butterflies in my stomach. What about dealing with people? what will they think of a solo traveller like me? What if my motorcycle broke along the road? How will i enjoy a place when i’m all by myself?! (good thing i’m an introvert. it doesn’t matter anyway. ;))Those were just a few things i had in mind that i had to ignore whenever it pop in my head for the possibility that i might change my mind and decide to stay.
I used to think,”When in doubt, dont” but now when i’m in doubt over things i enjoy doing then i just go! I packed my stuff, mainly food, gadgets and clothes and took my ever faithful motorcycle “Hodor” for a 26km road trip to Tinoto, Maasim. My destination? Jix and Jas, a rocky cove that once gave me a memory of clear shallow waters and starfishes.
ON THE ROAD…
I rode on my motorcycle as the horizon and the blue sea beckoned me to just go. When i reached the steep road descend to Tinoto,Maasim. My heart skipped a bit. It was solo adventure! The salty smell of the sea and the sight of the small community on the shores of the cove brought me nostalgia and there i was experiencing it all over again…
As i drove towards my destination i thought that Tinoto could be the first for this blog and there will be more places to go to and write an account of by Pinoy Travelogista.
